Spring 2015

I made a commitment in October to put more time, energy and care into this blog. I planted that seed and let it become winter-hardy during the dark season of Winter; not sure if it would germinate or not.

A Candle and a Glass of Water

The earliest reference of what we now call Halloween had little to do with trick or treating. In fact, it was a communal institution that had to do with ensuring the sustenance of the community and honoring our ancestors. It centered around the hearth, and sharing food was a central theme in observance of the holiday.
